Werner Kenkel to boost corrugated board capacity

6 August 2015

Werner Kenkel will install a new corrugator at the site in Krzycko Wielkie. Production start-up is scheduled for the second quarter of 2016.

Poland's corrugated board and packaging producer Werner Kenkel is in the midst of realising the largest investment programme in the company's history. In total, the family-owned company is investing PLN250m (more than €60m) in the expansion of its corrugated board capacity and increasing the converting potential at its three production sites in Poland. Once the expansion is complete, Werner Kenkel will have a production capacity of around 600 million m² of corrugated board per year.

At the company's main site in Krzycko Wielkie, the heart of the project is a new corrugator. The 2.8 meter wide BHS supplied machine will have a speed of 450 m/min and should start operations in the second quarter of 2016. Within three years, the new machine is expected to reach annual production of 300 million m² of single and double wall corrugated board, a company spokesman told EUWID.
