With a new continuous kiln from Valutec, Vida Vislanda increases its drying capacity by 48,000 cubic metres, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

At Vida’s sawmill in Vislanda, Sweden, spruce construction timber is sawed and planed. Recently, sawmill has needed to increase capacity and drying has been a major bottleneck. By investing in a continuous kiln, capacity is increased while the quality of the wood is raised.

“That they repeatedly believe in us shows that they are satisfied with our products and deliveries. I see this as a great acknowledgement of our collaboration and we are looking forward to starting this project,” says Robert Larsson CEO, Valutec.

The continuous kiln is an FB type and is equipped with pressure frames and a heat recovery system. It will primarily be used to dry side boards down to a moisture content of 18% and has an annual capacity of approximately 48,000 cubic metres. The kiln is delivered with Valutec’s own control system, Valmatics.

Valutec, with its long history of lumber drying, is today the market leader in Europe. Over the years, the company has delivered more than 3,000 batch kilns and 1000 continuous kilns, primarily to the Nordic countries, but also many deliveries to major sawmill markets like Germany and Russia.
