31 July 2015

UPM has achieved another milestone in its Euro 160 million ($177 million) investment project at its Kymi pulp mill in Finland. The firm has started up a new debarking unit at the mill which will debark and chip birch wood, a UPM representative told PPI Europe.

The new unit was delivered by Raumaster and includes a smelting conveyor, drum, chipper and bark crusher as well as a cutting station for long logs, which the UPM representative said will improve the debarking process in the winter.
