Technocell Dekor and Hans Schmid collaborates to develop colored core paper

13 May 2015

Technocell Dekor, one of the Osnabrück-based Felix Schoeller Group’s business units, and Hans Schmid KG of Gronau, have worked together to develop a coloured core paper for use in tables and desks, for example. This new development opens up a broad range of new applications, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The new core papers are a combination of high-quality decor papers, developed and produced by Technocell Dekor, and a special impregnation carried out by Hans Schmid. The collaboration between these two highly experienced partners, both of whom have vast development and technology expertise based on many years of experience, guarantees high-quality, non-cracking core papers that are available in virtually any colour. They also have high stability and weather-resistance.

“The possible applications for our new papers are virtually unlimited. They also be produced in multiple colours and the great variety of possible colours makes them ideal for advertising for associations or brands,” says Jan Esser, Hans Schmid KG’s CEO. Jan Reynders, Technocell Dekor’s area sales manager responsible for this product, envisages even more far-reaching possibilities of differentiated branding: “The possibility of combining coloured core papers with our print base papers or inkjet decor papers enables us to achieve a perfect match between the core and decorative layers, permitting all kinds of individualisation. In this way, we are creating genuine added value for our customers."

The first applications for the new core paper were on view at this year’s Interzum, which ran from 5 to 8 May in Cologne. This ideally coordinated product package will in future be marketed by Hans Schmid KG.

Founded in 1895, the Felix Schoeller Group is a family business with worldwide operations producing specialty papers.
