Klabin starts assembly of turbogenerators at Ortigueira pulp mill

Brazil's largest packaging paper producer Klabin has started the assembly of two turbogenerators at its first market pulp mill, which is being constructed in Ortigueira city, Paraná state, southern Brazil. The 1.5 million tonnes/yr bleached eucalyptus and softwood mill - Puma project - will be fired up in March 2016 and was 80% ready in August.

The turbogenerators have a combined capacity of 384 MW and were produced by Siemens in Germany. According to Siemens, they are the largest ever designed for a pulp project in the world.
