JAF Group completes acquisition of Skanditra

The JAF Group has finalised the acquisition of Swedish company Skanditra. All existing will take on all employees—eight at the Swedish sites and 20 at the Hungarian warehouse—remain on the payroll.

CEO of JAF Alexander Flatischler says, "The market for top lamellas and blank cuts is a niche market; longstanding expertise and established customer contacts are indispensable for success. We are pleased to welcome Skanditrä aboard. The acquisition opens a new business sector for the JAF Group and we can round off our product range. product range even further."

Skanditra reported an annual sales of about EUR 21 million in 2015. The company has a 25,000 m2 warehouse in Sopron, Hungary with 16 drying chambers boasting a total annual capacity of 13,000 m3. It primarily focuses on trade for the European and Asian markets in sawn timber and semi-finished products such as top lamellas and sawn hardwood.
