Demand for graphic papers in Germany recovered in September, but did not live up to expectations. In recent years, observers have noted the summer lull has been steadily growing longer and longer.

Demand for fine papers in Germany recovered in September. However, real drive or momentum is still missing, observers agree. For the months of June, July and August, producers reported a considerable drop in shipments compared to the previous year. This weak order backlog had also carried over into September. Insiders expect that a real uptick in demand will not be seen until October. In recent years, observers have noted the summer lull was steadily getting longer and longer. Consequently, prices remain under pressure.
