27 February 2015

Gambini spa and Applied Motion Systems (AMS) have signed a joint collaboration agreement to provide Tissue Converting Technology and Engineering Services to the North American marketplace.

Gambini spa, headquartered in Lucca, Italy, specializes in the manufacture of tissue converting machinery for both the Consumer Retail Market of bathroom tissue and kitchen towel products, and for the “Away-from-Home” Commercial and Industrial roll markets.

AMS, located in Vancouver, WA (USA), is an applied technology company that specializes in high-performance coordinated drive and control systems spanning a broad range of industries. These systems have provided tissue converters with an unmatched performance edge while enhancing safety, flexibility and reliability since 1995.

“This strategic agreement with AMS will allow Gambini America to enhance our technical service support in North America. AMS has been active in the tissue converting industry and brings to us experienced technical resources which will also allow us to maximize the performance of our North American electrical platforms,” states Bart Drage, Managing Director of Gambini America.

Carlo Berti, Gambini’s Marketing & Sales Director adds: “for years Gambini has successfully integrated hundreds of individual line retrofits and now with the involvement of AMS we will be able to streamline those efforts in North America.”

“Collaboration with Gambini allows AMS to further help customers increase production throughput and flexibility when upgrading a converting line. Our customers can strategically integrate new Gambini machine sections into their existing production line to address their specific needs and budget,” states Paul Johnson, COO of AMS.

Gambini and AMS will be holding a Customer Open House Event from March through May 2015 at the AMS facility in Vancouver, WA, that will feature Gambini’s SmartCut Core Maker.

The event will allow customer trial and demonstration opportunities on the SmartCut which is Gambini’s newest model for the high speed core making equipment market and is capable of producing 1 & 2-ply cores. The SmartCut machinery is powered by an AMS supplied Allen-Bradley Rockwell electrical system.
