FINSA acquired 5.2% of Proteak

Financiera Maderera, S.A. (FINSA) acquired a 5.2% participation of Proteak, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

FINSA is the largest producer and wholesaler of boards, resins, melamines and veneers, among other products, in the Iberian Peninsula. With more than 80 years of experience, it has 12 factories, 2,750 employees.

“We are pleased to have an international partner of the size of FINSA, which brings to the table an invaluable technical and commercial know-how. Its participation confirms the solidity of our MDF project and will be an important catalyst for its success”, said Héctor Bonilla, Chairman of the Board for Proteak.

Since April 2015, a Director of Project Management from FINSA, has been appointed and is currently in Huimanguillo supervising the start of the MDF plant.

“As mentioned before by Santiago García Valiño, our CEO, it is exciting to be part of this project, which is the most important in the sector in Mexico and Central America”, said D. Domingo Aller, President of FINSA.

Proteak is the largest forest-industrial company in Mexico and Central America. With 18,000 hectares of plantations in Mexico, Costa Rica and Colombia, it exports products to over 15 destinations in America, Europe and Asia. Proteak develops currently Mexico’s largest forestry industrial project.
