Eldorado Brasil starts construction of new 2 million tonnes/yr BEK pulp line in Brazil

Eldorado Brasil has announced for May the beginning of construction of its second bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp line in Três Lagoas, Brazil, after the completion of the basic engineering studies.

The company plans to start up production on its new 2.3 million tonnes/yr BEK line in the first half of 2018. "After the construction is completed, we will have the biggest hardwood pulp line in the world, and we will also create in Três Lagoas the largest global pulp industrial complex," said Eldorado's CEO, José Carlos Grubisich. "This is a new step to place Eldorado as a leader in the pulp industry, combining competitiveness, inovation and sustainability."
