Czech Papcel eyes new Indian plant

5 November 2015

Czech paper machine maker Papcel aims to open a new production facility in India, according to David Dostal, the company’s chief executive.

This follows an earlier deal signed by Papcel and Indian paper producer Nepa under which the Czech firm was to modernise two plants in India, reports local daily Mlada fronta DNES.

Dostal said that Papcel "sees our future in the Asian market, and we want to open our own production facility which will make paper machines in India.”

The amount of the latest investment was not disclosed by the Czech company.

Papcel says its product range includes paper machines for different paper grades with wire width up to 7.500 mm and operating speed up to 1.200 m/min. The company’s machines can make packaging papers, coated/uncoated cardboard, decorative papers, cigarette papers, and tissue paper.
