Prices are feeling the pinch in most sectors of the French corrugated case material market, even though inventory levels are not all that high and recycled containerboard manufacturers have to pay more for recovered paper in March.

Recycled containerboard manufacturers describe the market as not bad across the board, with order intake and deliveries certainly close to market forecasts. However, the businesses had not succeeded in reducing their stocks in recent weeks and more than enough paper was available on the market, EUWID respondents say.

Players on the market for unbleached kraftliner and white-top kraftliner are also reporting addditional price cuts in March, but they have varying views about whether prices will remain under pressure in the coming weeks.
