Brown kraftliner prices pointing up in Germany

10 July 2015

Higher prices are finding traction on the German market for unbleached kraftliner, but manufacturers are still not completely satisfied with the outcome of the latest price talks and are continuing negotiations in July.

Unbleached kraftliner producers expect support from renewed negotiations for recycled corrugated case material and are optimistic that they will succeed in charging more again for deliveries in July.

The demand-supply situation in Germany seems to be supporting manufacturers' plans for higher prices. Order levels of converters are reportedly excellent and delivery periods for brown kraftliner are said to be long. While kraftliner converters do not expressly speak of a supply shortage, they do see that availability is lower. Reports indicate that not every order for kraftliner can be met quickly and without problems.
